ACUPUNCTURE AND AURICULOTHERAPY

This course introduces the basic philosophy of acupuncture as established by the Chinese. It includes later medical developments and demonstrates how the course of treatment relates to homeotherapeutics. Physics and energy theory, five element theory, meridians, organs, biorhythms, various modes of therapy, as well as different ways to treat conditions of the blood, will be examined. The practical application of needles and various theories of acupuncture, including auricular and hand acupuncture, will be taught.

ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY FOR NATURAL HEALTH PROFESSIONALS

BASIC BODY BALANCING

This course includes the theory and practice of basic body balancing including qigong and tai chi. Instruction in exercises that encourage better circulation of blood, lymph and chi energy is included.

BIO-ENERGETICS

This course covers principles of energy flow through the body. Factors that affect energy flow and techniques for influencing it are discussed. The course also examines how color and sound frequencies affect the body’s energy system and the use of color and sound in restoring health by harmonizing the body to a balanced state.

BOTANICALS WITH PHARMACOGNOSY

This course reviews the nutritional biochemistry of herbs and shows how herbologists, homeopaths and naturopaths use herbs to modify a disordered process of nutrition in the body. The source of botanicals (climate and location), their macro and micro nutrients, flavanoids, essential fatty acids, glycosides, key active ingredients and pharmacological reactions in the body are studied. This course also addresses the relationship between ecology, particularly our fragile environmental ecosystems, and our health.

CLINICAL INTERNSHIP IN HOMEOTHERAPEUTICS

This independent study requires a student to practice techniques in homeotherapeutics and the nataural health sciences in a clinical setting, under the supervision of an approved health care professional.

CLINICAL INTERNSHIP IN ACUPUNCTURE

This course provides advanced training in locating and needling the most commonly used acupuncture points. Under the close supervision of an instructor and with the participation of fellow students as patients, students develop a diagnosis and treatment plan and implement the treatment. Under close supervision of the instructor, student practitioners participate and assist in all aspects of patient care. Students also assist local acupuncturists, gaining exposure to the diversity of acupuncture styles and approaches.

CLINICAL PRACTICUM

In this course, students observe techniques in Homeotherapeutics and the Health Sciences in a clinical setting as applied by an approved health care professional.

COMMUNITY SERVICE ENRICHMENT

During this independent study, students participate in a variety of natural health care experiences to broaden their education and to learn office procedures and management practices. Students may choose to work in a medical clinic, a health food store or another facility that provides patient care.

CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY

This course covers the theory and practice of craniosacral therapy, developed by Dr. John Upledger. It includes an introduction to the anatomy and physiology of the craniosacral system, evaluative techniques conducted through the palpation of the craniosacral rhythm and treatment by gentle mobilization of the fascia of the body, dural membranes and the bones of the skull and sacrum.

DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT IN TRADITIONAL CHINESE MEDICINE

In this course, students develop basic skills in the traditional methods of Chinese medical diagnosis: observation, audio-olfaction, inquiry and palpation, including pulse diagnosis. Diagnostic differentiation and acupuncture treatment of major symptoms and diseases are covered. Ear acupuncture is presented as the most clinically significant microsystem of acumoxa therapy. Students practice needling technique and ear acupoint location.

EARLY FAMILY HEALTH ENHANCEMENT

This course develops awareness, understanding and appreciation of early infant health needs through promotion of breast-feeding for physical and emotional health. The course also explores the application of homeopathic remedies in infancy and nutritional approaches for healthy families.

ELECTRODERMAL ANALYSIS

This course presents the history, philosophy and basic techniques of bioenergetics according to Dr. Reinhart Voll. During the course it is demonstrated how acupuncture meridians are used to study conditions of a person’s energy system and how homeotherapeutics are utilized. Practical demonstrations and student practice enhance and develop the student’s skills.

ELECTRODERMAL ANALYSIS CASE STUDY RESEARCH

This independent study requires a student to study 12 individuals, spending a minimum of three months on each. These studies will include conducting Electrodermal Analysis (EDA) and providing health building recommendations based on the analysis. Recommendations may include nutritional guidelines, homeotherapeutic remedies and other natural health techniques.

ENERGETIC FRAMEWORK OF THE HUMAN BODY

This course provides a scientific analysis of conventional Western medicine’s mechanistic view of life, comparing it with complementary alternative medicine’s vitalistic view. The laws of conservation of energy as applicable to the human body and activities to balance energies while maintaining homeostasis are taught.

ENVIRONMENT HEALTH AND AGRICULTURAL ENGINEERING

Humans, more than any other entity, determine the face and future of our planet. This course examines the biological and ecological impact of our actions on our fragile water and agricultural resources and proposes a methodology for dealing with the environmental challenges that we face. It also shows how both the natural and built environment impact human health.

ETHICS, JURISPRUDENCE AND MANAGED HEALTH CARE

The student will be exposed to leaders in their respective fields of ethics in the therapeutic practice of natural health sciences. Moreover, tort reform, malpractice, deposition, case records and testimony will be discussed in detail.

German New Medicine

An introductory course in GNM. A revolutionary perspective of health and disease discovered by Dr. Ryke Geerd Hamer. A new paradigm of medicine bringing scientific awareness that organisms possess an inexhaustible creativity, have self healing capabilities and that each cell has a biological wisdom. Demonstrates that all so called disease has a special biological meaning. 

HOMEOPATHY AND PSYCHOSOCIAL DEVELOPMENT

This course helps students better understand themselves, their heredity, environment, personality, masculinity or femininity, maturity level, attitudes, values and present and future goals. It includes the study of relationships with family, friends, other people, the environment and the universe. Homeopathy applied to psychological and emotional healing is also discussed.

HOMEOTHERAPEUTIC CASE STUDY RESEARCH

This independent study requires a student to study 12 individuals. For each study participant, the student will conduct an interview, repertorize symptoms and recommend homeotherapeutic remedies for building health. A follow-up interview will be conducted to determine effect of the selected remedies and to provide further recommendations if necessary.

This course provides a philosophical base and overview of the science of homeotherapeutics. Homeotherapeutics is a term that is used to describe products and therapies that establish balance – or homeostasis – in the body. Homeotherapeutic products use energetic signatures of substances to augment a person’s health.

HOMOTOXICOLOGY

This course is an introduction to homotoxicology. Homotoxicology is the science which describes the body’s detoxification and defense systems. Students study how cells and tissues respond to stress and how environmental factors affect the immune system.

HYPNOTHERAPY

This course presents the theory of hypnosis and therapeutic techniques. The art of suggestion, pre-inductive talk, techniques for release of negative energy and how to induce hypnotic states are covered. Hypnotherapy may be applied to modify a person’s behavior, emotional content and attitudes, as well as a wide range of conditions including dysfunctional habits, anxiety, stress-related illness, pain management and personal development.

INTRODUCTION TO PHYSIOLOGICAL REGULATING MEDICINE (PRM)

This course presents the theory and practice of PRM and enables the graduates to apply the knowledge and actual remedies to enhance the patients’ health. PRM integrates the state of the art knowledge of Homeopathy, Homotoxicology, Psycho Neuro Endocrine Immunology (PNEI), and Nutritional Medicine to achieve optimal health. PRM adds to classical Homeopathy a new therapeutic concept of restoring physiology through communicating molecules such as hormones, neuropeptides and growth factors prepared in homeopathic dilutions, which are the same physiological concentration as the biological milieu. The homeopathic preparation method of “dilution-potentization” enhances the effectiveness of these communicating molecules.

NEDDLE TECHNIQUE AND CLEAN NEEDLES TECHNIQUE

This course, taught by a licensed acupuncturist, covers the microbiological considerations of sterile technique in modern acupuncture. Students receive intensive instruction in the techniques of clean needle insertion as approved by current national standards. Students also review the anatomical structures through which needles pass and learn how to obtain proper needling sensation and techniques, such as tonification and sedation, pecking, thrusting and twirling. Demonstration and practice will also focus on the accessory techniques of acupuncture: auricular technique, moxibustion, cupping, plum-blossom and electro-acupuncture.

NUTRITION AND NUTRACEUTICALS

This course presents the science of nutrition and its relationship to the health of the individual. Food sources of vitamins, minerals, enzymes, carbohydrates, proteins and fats are emphasized. The nutrient value of natural versus synthetic foods is discussed. The body’s need for pure air, water, nutrients, basic wholesome foods, enzymes and hormones, as well as its need for exercise are also highlighted, with recommendations on a lifestyle that incorporates these.

OTHAMO SOMATIC ANALYSIS

As many as 90 different conditions are reflected in the iris of an individual’s eye. Patterns, colors and other characteristics of the iris can be examined to determine information about a person’s systemic health. This course shows how the condition of body tissues is reflected in the iris, sclera and pupil of the eye. Both American and European methods are covered.

POINT LOCATION: ACTION AND EFFECTS OF POINTS AND CHANNELS

Through demonstration and supervised practice, students learn to locate the major acupoints on the Twelve Main Channels and the Eight Extraordinary Channels. The system of nomenclature adapted by the World Health Organization is used. Acupuncture points are presented both individually and in combination according to their traditional classifications. The general therapeutic domains of the channels are studied and analyzed.

THEORY OF TRADITIONAL CHINESE MEDICINE

This course provides the essential foundation for understanding Chinese theory and its use in the diagnosis and treatment of disharmony and disease. Study focuses on the basic concepts of qi, yin-yang and the Five-Element Theory in their specific relationship to human health. Building on this foundation, students learn the signs and symptoms of disease through a study of the Eight Principles, the Fundamental Substances, the Six Yin Organs and the Six Yang Organs, their interrelationships, and the etiology of disease. Various dysfunctions of qi, blood, fluids and essence are covered. Basic pathways for returning to balance are introduced.

TOXICOLOGY OF HUMAN DISEASE AND DETOXIFICATION PROTOCOLS

This course studies the basic mechanisms of toxicology, particularly as related to internal and external (environmental) toxins. This course also covers the human biochemistry system of detoxification and how it copes with environmental chemicals. The mechanism of this system is viewed in relationship to the histology, anatomy, physiology and immunology of the matrix regulation system. Protocols for cellular detoxification, including herbal and homeopathically prepared nutraceuticals, are outlined.

HOMOTOXICOLOGY AND PHENOLICS

This course studies the allergic reactions to aromatic food compounds and their effects on the human body. The history and scientific research of this new emerging thought in natural medicine and the homeopathic remedies that apply are investigated.

SOFT LASER THERAPY

Soft Laser Therapy is the application of safe (non-cutting and non-burning) laser energy to damaged cells in order to stimulate healing.
